My philosophy on education is one in that art is just as important as the other subjects. Throughout the past, art has had a relationship with science, mathematics, history, and the language arts. Such examples include Da Vinci's cadaver drawings, the mathematic compositions of Escher, Delacroix's history paintings, and the visionary paintings and poetry of William Blake. I believe it's imperative to include art into the contemporary framework of the public school setting. Not only does it allow the student to get a well rounded education, but it could be the one class that holds the most importance to them. Art makes students think "outside the box" along with seeing things with a "critical eye", therefore preparing them for the real world!
